At Wicks & Whiskers, you blend your own candle and then visit with kittens while it sets. The shop is at 1800 Central Ave in Plaza Midwood, Charlotte.
Guests pick a vessel and blend up to three of more than 70 fragrance oils. Then they pour the candle in soy wax. The oils are phthalate-free. While it cools, you can go into the kitten klubhouse, where foster kittens from Killer Kitties Rescue are waiting. Killer Kitties is a nonprofit in Oakboro, NC, and the kittens in the shop are available for adoption.

The Kitten & Kandle Experience is $55 and runs two hours.
The Kandle Experience is $45 and takes one hour.
The Kitten Experience is $15 and lasts 50 minutes.
Groups of up to 16 can book the candle experiences. The kitten visit takes up to 12.
Plaza Midwood has a lot of places to eat and drink. This one is something to do with a friend, a date or a group, and the kittens leave with a new owner if someone falls for them.
