Mallory Anita Lawson is an artist and designer based in Upstate New York. She grew up in North Carolina, spent about ten years in Los Angeles, and now makes work across ceramics, textiles, graphics and interiors.
She believes handmade objects carry meaning and tell their own stories. Folk art, craft traditions and the natural world shape what she makes, and she wants each piece to be both useful and expressive. Her portfolio covers textiles and illustration, and she has collaborated with other makers, including Kat Mills Martin, Al’s Big Deal and Lykke Wulff.
She also runs Earth Ship, an artist-run design studio that takes her approach into interiors, styling, art direction and graphics. Earth Ship designs whole homes and brand identities, and it makes custom pieces such as ceramic lighting and textiles.
