Jules Zanoni got her first houseplant at four years old, back in Chicago. Decades later, she makes the long drives to Florida herself to stock Grow, her plant shop at Camp North End in Charlotte.
She started small, renting a tiny corner of a shop near home. When she and her husband moved to Charlotte for his work, she opened Grow in Plaza Midwood before settling at Camp North End, the 76-acre former industrial site north of Uptown. When it opened there, she said it "felt like the perfect fit to grow my business."
The shelves hold tropical and arid houseplants, picked up on those Florida runs and from greenhouse growers across the Carolinas. Around them are pots, plant accessories, candles, jewelry, and pottery and wall hangings from independent artists. Every plant comes with a care card that lists the conditions it likes best.
You don't need a green thumb. The shop posts what's in stock on its Instagram story, so check before you go, and ask anything.
