Most camera stores will sell you a long lens. The Yellowstone Camera Store will also take you to Africa to use it.
Christopher Balmer opened Perfect Light Camera & Supply in Idaho Falls in 2008 and built it into a photography classroom, with more than 20,000 students by its own count. Photo Adventure Workshops followed in 2016: international trips for photographers, from a safari on the plains of Africa to Brazil's wildlife, Alaska's eagles, and fall in Yellowstone and the Tetons. The Yellowstone Camera Store opened in West Yellowstone in 2019, and when the Idaho Falls shop closed after more than 17 years, everything moved there.
The store is a pro dealer for Nikon, Canon, Sony, Tamron, Sigma, and more, with full manufacturer warranties, and it says its prices match online dealers and the big-box stores. Long lenses and mirrorless bodies are available to rent before you buy, or just for the trip. There are classes, too, for people who'd rather learn the camera than gear up.
Buy the lens. Rent the lens. Then go point it at something wild.
