Brian Twitty worked in Charlotte’s finance world until he realized it wasn’t for him. “I’ve never felt the joys [from finance] that I get from visual work,” he told Queen City Nerve. So he picked up a camera.
Brian Twitty Photography & Video started in commercial work and grew into something more artistic. He shoots weddings, engagements, portraits, events, concerts, and bands. His business background gave him the confidence to network in Charlotte’s creative scene and the sense to make the art pay. He was twice Reader’s Pick for Best Photographer in the Best in the Nest awards, and thrice picked in Creative Loafing's Best of Charlotte awards.
He also gives back. For an exhibit called Visualist at The Artisan’s Palate, a portion of proceeds went to Safe Alliance, which supports survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault. “Art is perspective,” he says. “No one can tell you what art is.” His goal is to bring joy to people’s lives, and he keeps relationships at the center, even in business. “Dreams are about people.”
Book him for the wedding, the band, or the day that won’t happen twice.
