DISINFORM is a clothing brand with a message printed on its own merchandise: “The true power of a society exists within the individual, not the collective.” The two-person North Carolina team behind it started in 2022, and they design the artwork and screen print, tie dye and acid wash everything themselves.
The manifesto is blunt. It tells people to turn off the television, put down the phone, make their own decisions and read books in a digital world. It says to go outside, look at the sky, seek your truth and live your life for yourself. The brand’s tagline sums it up: “Be who you are. Do what you do. Wear DISINFORM.”
The line includes tees and raglans, hoodies, beanies, hats, stickers, pins and totes, all designed and printed in North Carolina by the same team.
DISINFORM sells online and through small independent shops, including ARC Skate Shop and Body Piercing in Eden, The Funk! in Lexington, Shelby Spice at Cleveland Mall in Shelby and STARWorks in Star. Pop-ups and drops are announced on Instagram and TikTok.
