Ken Knudtsen

Editorial story:

A little girl, a chimpanzee named Jennifer, and an evil scientist harvesting people's brain energy. Ken Knudtsen wrote and drew all of it himself.

My Monkey's Name Is Jennifer came out through SLG Publishing in 2003, and it has stayed weird in the best way: ninjas, pirates, Huey Lewis, a movie theater, tea parties with stuffed animals in pretty dresses. Comics writer Peter David rated it by counting how many times he said "Jesus Christ" while reading. The collected edition Ken sells now runs 272 pages, with a cover he penciled and Klaus Janson inked.

Ken is based in Charlotte, and the résumé runs wide: comics work that includes Wolverine, plus animation for Comedy Central and PBS. His online shop covers the rest. There's original art, commissions in sumi ink and brush or oil bars, and original pages from the Cypress Hill: Black Sunday graphic novel.
