If you have books to get rid of in South Charlotte, The Book Rack at 10110 Johnston Rd will trade them for store credit. The Charlotte, NC bookstore has been in the area for over 30 years, and it keeps more than 50,000 used books on the shelves, mostly priced at $8 or less.
The stock is general: fiction, nonfiction and children’s books, plus sections such as horror, historical fiction, cooking and crafts, and local authors. New books are available at 20% off, and a rental shelf lends new hardcovers for $3 for two weeks.
The shop gives back too. It holds annual food and supply drives for local charities and takes donations for Promising Pages.
It’s open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
