At Juicy Dumpling, you can watch the dumplings being made through the kitchen window. The Chinese restaurant opened Sept. 2, 2026, at 8933 J M Keynes Dr, Suite 1, in The Boardwalk at University Place in Charlotte, NC. It took over the former Crafty Crab Seafood space, and Fahong Zhang is the owner.
The menu is built around handmade dumplings in three styles: steamed, pan-fried and soup. There are also bao, spring rolls, scallion pancakes, chow mein, fried rice and noodle dishes.
University City has a lot of students and workers to feed. A restaurant that makes its food in view of the dining room gives the neighborhood something it can see and taste.
The restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
